You’ll also spot wombats, kangaroos, penguins, dolphins and even Tasmanian devils. At night, stay in secluded wilderness camps and a heritage house in Darlington, a World Heritage convict site. There is an optional trip to climb through rare cloud rainforest to the peaks of Mount Maria or Bishop and Clerk.

Maria Island Walk

Experience our multi-award-winning four day Maria Island Walk just off the east coast of Tasmania, one of the Great Walks of Australia.

Having guided over 1400 walks over 20 seasons and received eight National Tourism Awards, our Maria Island Walk is recognised as one of Australia’s outstanding experiences.

Immerse yourself in the exhilarating beauty and natural wonder that is Maria Island. Traverse the island, from its wilderness to white-sandy beaches. Sleep under the canopy of stars at the bush camps, with the last night spent in cosy comfort at heritage-listed Bernacchi House in Darlington. Capture memorable moments of the island’s photogenic wombats, kangaroos and wildlife that freely roam, with the island nicknamed ‘The Noah’s Ark of Australia’ for its diverse variety of wildlife.

The Itinerary
We collect our guests from their Hobart CBD accommodation, transferring you to our city base where you’ll meet your guides and fellow guests, collect your packs and take part in a briefing of the four days of incredible adventure to come.

From there, you will be transferred to Maria Island, with three nights spent in both our exclusive wilderness camps and at heritage-listed Bernacchi House. Four days, filled with memories to last a lifetime.
