FROM TOKYO
VIBRANT
TOKYO
From Yokohama, travel to the world’s most dazzling city. Once the modest fishing village of Edo, modern Tokyo is a sprawling metropolis of unique neighborhoods. Choose from museums covering every aspect of Japanese history and culture. Visit the glorious Imperial Palace and Senso-ji temple in the ancient district of Asakusa. Dive into an urban food scene that rewards the intrepid. And, of course, snap a selfie in Shibuya Crossing. In Yokohama, bask in the city’s hospitality before visiting Japan’s largest Chinatown or the vast Sankeien Garden, where seventeen historical structures relocated from Kyoto, Kamakura and elsewhere enhance the magnificent landscapes.

FROM BALI
BALINESE
TRADITIONS
Benoa’s charms are most evident in Nusa Dua, one of the most beautiful beaches in already-legendary Bali. In this land of rice terraces, spectacular volcanoes and over 20,000 temples, the main destination is the stunning 17th-century royal temple complex of Pura Taman Ayun in nearby Mengwi, surrounded by a lotus-filled moat, giving it the feel of a garden sanctuary. Another favorite is the Sunset Temple, Tanah Lot, and don’t miss the batik factories for that perfect gift or souvenir.

FROM CAPE TOWN
WILD &
WONDERFUL
CAPE TOWN
Day 1 commences with a scenic drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. It’s here that the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, along with their diverse ecosystems, are thought to converge. This expansive nature reserve occupies 19,150 acres of indigenous flora and fauna. Upon arrival, you’ll ride the funicular railway to the top of Cape Point (provided it’s in operation), for breathtaking views and photo opportunities.

Then you’re off to an African penguin colony at Boulders Beach, followed by a drive through the naval base of Simon’s Town to Fish Hoek. From here, you’ll continue to the colorful fishing harbor of Kalk Bay before turning on to Boyes Drive, which offers magnificent views of Muizenberg and False Bay.

Before arriving at the hotel in Cape Town, you’ll travel by the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial, Mostert’s Mill and famous Groote Schuur Hospital. Enjoy the afternoon on your own after checking into the hotel. A welcome dinner awaits at your hotel.

After breakfast on Day 2, we’ll depart Cape Town and take the N1 National Road to Paarl, the “Pearl” of the Berg River Valley. This romantic town is where you’ll visit a local wine estate, enjoy a cellar tour and have the opportunity to taste local wines.

You’ll visit the Huguenot Museum, situated at the foot of the Franschhoek Pass and the adjoining Huguenot Memorial Museum followed by a picnic lunch listening to an unforgettable string trio at one of the local wine estates.

Onward to Stellenbosch, “Town of Oaks,” the second oldest town in South Africa, founded by Governor Simon van der Stel in 1679. Today, Stellenbosch is best known as a major university town, characterized by Cape Dutch-style architecture and leafy streets so beautiful that some of them have been declared national monuments. After a brief drive through town, spend time on your own exploring curio shops or visiting (for an additional cost) the Stellenbosch Museum. After returning to the hotel, enjoy the remainder of the day and dinner on your own.

Day 3 begins with breakfast and two-hour journey through the scenic Hex River Valley to one of Cape Town’s closest private game reserves, Aquila (location subject to change depending on size of the group). This game reserve is situated on 4500 hectares of Southern Karoo Highlands and combines the flora and fauna of three beautiful valleys.

You’ll be welcomed with a drink followed by a game drive in 4 x 4 safari vehicles with experienced ranger guides. Animals typically found roaming in the reserve include rhino, buffalo, giraffe and lions (note: lions are in an enclosure). Large herds of zebra, black and blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, warthog, eland, springbok, blesbok and gemsbok may also be seen in the semi-arid desert conditions. Hippo and crocodile lurk in the wetlands. Aquila’s wide array of bird species include several pairs of the rare and endangered black eagle, after which the reserve has been named.

This adventure ends with a delicious buffet lunch served in the African “Boma” restaurant. Back in Cape Town, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure, and dinner is on your own.

On Day 4, you’ll enjoy breakfast prior to checking out.
