In the heart of spicy Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, you’ll find Faena–a colorful, exciting, and eclectic luxury hotel that’s been voted one of the top five hotels in Argentina by Condé Nast readers.
Inspired by Alan Faena and designed by Philippe Starck. it has been conceived as a home. Housed in a transformed historic grain construction originally built in 1902. offers luxury rooms and spaces with a singular atmosphere that form the Universe.
For a big name brand hotel, this location has a small, intimate hotel feel. The property has 66 rooms and 22 suites, each of which is beautifully donned in the classic Faena white and red décor.
When you first walk in, you’ll notice the front desk and concierge are not right in your face, they’re tucked off to the side so guests have a private moment to do their check in. Most notably for us as advisors, the check in and concierge team is one in the same and made up of 3 people, so guests will continue to see the same familiar faces and have them on hand to assist with everything from transportation to coordinating on the ground activities.
The hotel was designed by Phillip Stark and consistently nods to the hotel’s history as a manufacturing warehouse from 1902.
In terms of food & beverage, the property has a few different spaces to offer:
The Library: Awesome bar designed to feel like the living rooms of the second homes of the rich and famous in the 1920s. Drinks here were great and they have live music Wednesdays through Saturday night. The night I visited the band was amazing! This space also offers quick bites during the day like coffee, snacks, etc.
El Mercado: This restaurant is designed based on the 1940s and feels like your grandma’s kitchen. There are antique looking pictures and glass cases of antique figurines all over the space as the smell of fresh bread permeates the whole restaurant.
Some nights they also do an authentic Argentinian asado outside in the courtyard.
Bistro Sur: This is their Italian restaurant, here you’ll find Italian music playing and pasta being served in large wheels of cheese. This spot is open at night daily and soon they’ll begin serving lunch Wed-Sun as well.
They also offer 24 hour room service!
March, November, and December are very popular months for them – so book ahead knowing it’s a more intimate property.

They also have no resort fees. The pool, gym, hamam and dry sauna as well as yoga and meditation classes are all included in the nightly rate.
Additionally, when booking a stay of 3+ nights, clients will get 2 tickets to the Rojo Tango Show at the Faena, which is often ranked as one of the best in Buenos Aires (certainly the most chic)!
