Coming to Vancouver, BC, Canada for the FIFA World Cup?
Of COURSE tickets are expensive!
But have you looked at the cost of accommodations?
Prices in Vancouver have tripled!
AND are hard to find any vacancies!
Craziness, right?
I have an idea
I can save you thousands of dollars if you are willing to think outside of the box
And find accommodations OUTSIDE the greater Vancouver area
And take a:
– ferry
– helicopter
– float plane
– even the Westcoast Express to outlying Mission, BC would save you a fortune
I know, I know, that SOUNDS crazy, but its not!
Depending on WHEN the game takes place, you can find ferries on a regular schedule, and float planes are a 30-40 minute jaunt from say Victoria, BC – The Empress Hotel is right on the waterfront there, with a series of great alternatives, virtually next door
Tofino – a gorgeous spot, and also has regular float plane service to and from Vancouver
Courtney/Comox/Campbell River
Ferries run regularly from Horseshoe Bay (bus from DT Vancouver), or Tsawassen if you have a car – to Victoria, Nanaimo, small islands in between, the Sunshine Coast
Lots of alternatives to $2500 a night DT Van 5 star hotels!
Lastly, if you DON’T have tickets, I can hound a local ticket broker, and see what IS available – you’ve got a BIG wallet, right?
And also add on days before, after, in between games, to enjoy the amazing tourist destination that can be anything from Lake Louise/Banff/Jasper to The Okanagan to Victoria, Sunshine Coast, Gulf Islands – and oh yeah, you could roam around Vancouver, Whistler, etc right here!
